Watching youngsters grow in confidence as they master the art of sailing is one of the great rewards for the us. Our courses will entertain, challenge and stimulate your children as they learn how to master a sailing dinghy afloat – and have fun along the way.
Who should join in?
The programme is specifically designed with students from our Summer courses and past Junior Club members in mind, so some sailing experience is recommended.
June Dates
The Summer Term runs every Saturday on following dates, with sailors choosing from two times of attendance, 10am-1pm and 2-5pm.
June 11th, 18th and 25th
The cost for the 3 weeks is €90.
To book this course:
Step 1: Online payment, after which you will receive an email confirmation with a link to an online form.
Step 2: Submission of the online form.
Your course booking will only be secured once both steps are completed.
Like our Summer courses, we’re asking that children arrive and leave in their wetsuit (or borrowed wetsuit) and come changed ready to participate in the activity. Nevertheless, the following items are required:
Change of clothes and shower gear – in case they get very cold
Bottled water (packed lunches not needed; we’re requesting that parents not pack food so as to reduce the risk of cross contamination while eating)
Footwear that you don’t mind if they get wet, old runners would be ideal
Rain jacket – even for when it’s not raining, it will keep a lot of the wind off
Hat and sun cream for sunny days
Woolly hat for cooler days
Wetsuit – either your child’s own one or you can rent one from us for the duration of the term, bringing it home each day.
Collection of the wetsuit can take place in the week preceding the start of the first date, including the Saturday of the weekend before. We’ll be open 9am-5pm each day, Monday-Saturday.
Reviews
I have just done the RYA Competent Crew course here, five-days aboard the 36-foot Beaufort Venture under the guidance of instructor Gary Curran. The whole week surpassed my expectations, and... read more I cannot praise Gary's teaching style highly enough. We covered the syllabus with clear, safety-focused instructions, followed by lots of hands-on practice. He was patient when things didn't always go right first time, and challenged us to step up our skills when he thought we were ready. We got lots and lots of sailing in conditions ranging from 10 to 30 knots of wind, and the Beaufort Venture is a comfortable and forgiving boat to sail. I won't name check my wonderful shipmates, but I can say that after this week of instruction and encouragement I've raised my sailing ambitions to a higher level. The INSS under Kenny Rumball are super-well organised, and supported us with all the advice, equipment, clothing and food we needed. A great week, and I strongly recommend the INSS to anyone wanting to start sailing or to build their skills.
